He is a Certified member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), qualified to appraise contemporary or antique and period jewelry. As the appraisal editor for National Jeweler magazine from 1993 through 2000, he published more than 60 columns on appraising and he was awarded ISA's Media Award in 1995 and 1996 for his work with the magazine. Joseph's book, The Jeweler's Guide to Effective Insurance Appraising, was published by Gemworld International in 1996 and earned him ISA's Lamp of Knowledge award in 1997. Because of his expertise in gem and jewelry appraising, Mr. Joseph was the Editor of appraisal colleague Cos Altobelli's 2000 book, The Practical Guide to Jewelry Appraising. Mr. Joseph is frequently invited to lecture on the subject of appraising and his audiences have included GIA Alumni Chapters, Jewelers of America State Affiliates, the American Gem Society, the American Society of Appraisers, the International Society of Appraisers, and a television audience on the "New Jersey Live" show in 1995. In 1992, he co-hosted "The Jewelry Show" on KIEV AM radio in Los Angeles. In 1998, he resumed his radio program as "Talk to the Jewelry Judge" on WJHR radio in central New Jersey. Mr. Joseph has been quoted on The Learning Channel and in publications such as New York Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, and National Pawnbroker Magazine. ![]() From Route 1 Take route 1 from either North or South, to Alexander Road. There is a major overpass/cloverleaf there. Follow signs "West, to Princeton" and follow Alexander Road until it ends at a "T" intersection. Turn right, go approximately one block to Nassau Street, and turn right again. Follow Nassau Street and look for a courtyard surrounded by Sovereign Bank, Weidel Realty, and RBC Investments. Walk through the courtyard door of RBC, turn left down the hallway and down the steep steps to The Jewelry Judge. From the Somerville Circle Take Route 206 toward Princeton. Follow it all the way to the end, where it reaches a "T" intersection. Turn left to get onto Nassau Street. Follow Nassau Street and look for a courtyard surrounded by Sovereign Bank, Weidel Realty, and RBC Investments. Walk through the courtyard door of RBC, turn left down the hallway and down the steep steps to The Jewelry Judge. From the New Jersey Turnpike Use Exit 8A and after the toll plaza head toward CRANBURY [Not toward Jamesburg]. At the bottom of the ramp continue on, get into the left lane until that road ends at Route 130. Turn left on Route 130 and follow all the way to Princeton-Hightstown Road, which is Route 571. Turn right and follow Princeton-Hightstown Road several miles until you pass through Princeton Junction, continue over the bridge around the curve, and turn right at the bottom to continue on. At this point the name changes to Washington Road. Stay on it, cross Route 1, and follow Washington Road into Princeton. At Nassau Street turn right and after approximately ½ block, look for a courtyard surrounded by Sovereign Bank, Weidel Realty, and RBC Investments. Walk through the courtyard door of RBC Investment, turn left down the hallway and down the steep steps to The Jewelry Judge. From I-95 Exit I-95 at Route 1 North (New Brunswick) and follow Route 1 to Alexander Road. There is a major overpass/cloverleaf there. From Flemington (The Scenic Route) Take Voorhees Corner Road to Barley Sheaf and turn right toward the Barley Sheaf School. Go to the end of Barley Sheaf Road until you reach a stop sign. Go across the first road between two buildings (one is Newton’s Guest Home), then make a left on Amwell Road. Take the first immediate right onto Manners Road and stay on it to the very end, a "T" intersection at the bottom of a hill. Turn right at the bottom, then make the first left. This road will take you into Hopewell, where it ends at Route 518. Turn left on Route 518, to the first traffic light (Princeton Avenue/Route 569), and turn right. Follow this road (name changes to Princeton-Hopewell Road) through one traffic light, to the next light which is Rosedale. Turn left on Rosedale and follow it several miles until the first traffic light. Turn right, down the hill to the "T" intersection, and make a left turn. Follow that road directly into Princeton (onto Nassau Street) and look for a courtyard surrounded by Sovereign Bank, Weidel Realty, and RBC Investments. Walk through the courtyard door of RBC Investment, turn left down the hallway and down the steep steps to The Jewelry Judge. |
